Stem cell research

What are stem cells?

Stem cells differ from other cells in the body in three ways:

  • They can divide and renew themselves over a long time
  • They are unspecialized
  • They have the potential to become specialized cells, such as muscle cells, blood cells, and brain cells

Stem cells serve as the repair system for your body. As you age, your body has fewer and fewer stem cells.

What can stem cells be used for?

Stem cells are showing promising results for such things as M.S., Diabetes, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Cardiovascular Disease, COPD, Stroke, and Pain just to name a few. Research has been highly focused on joint pain i.e. knees, elbows, backs, wrists, fingers, etc. Stem cell therapy can become an alternative to invasive surgeries.

For years, the rich and famous were known for going to clinics in Switzerland for their stem cell treatment to maintain their youth and vitality. It has also been very popular with professional athletes for the treatment of injuries. Over the past few years, stem cell therapy has become more common in the US and thus the price has come down.

We are proud to announce that we are now able to offer stem cell treatments to our patients. If you have any questions about stem cell therapy or to schedule a free consultation to see if you are a candidate, contact our office today.
